Since 2022, LocoMotion Verdun has brought together people from Verdun and Île-des-Sœurs around local vehicle sharing.
With the support of Demain Verdun, the volunteer Committee began by sharing self-made LocoMobile trailers and a trailer for transporting dogs.
You can lend a vehicle, borrow one, or help keep the project running.
LocoMotion Verdun took shape in 2022 with the sharing of homemade LocoMobile trailers, as well as a trailer adapted for transporting a dog.
Two years later, the project expanded with the deployment of cargo bikes, a tricycle for seniors, and peer-to-peer car sharing.
A diversity of vehicles that meets different transportation needs, while collectively experimenting with other ways to get around.
In Verdun, good ideas travel too! One committee member notably created a zine on car sharing, now available for Réseau LocoMotion communities looking for inspiration. Discover the zine on car sharing
This desire to share and help each other earned Verdun the LocoIntergénérationnel award at the LocoFolies 2023, given to a community where different generations are involved in the project.
The project has also been featured in the media, notably in Nouvelles d’ici:
LocoMotion Verdun runs thanks to the people who get involved in the community.
Volunteers contribute in several ways:
No matter your age or experience, you are welcome on the committee.
You can also contribute by spreading the word about the project, lending a vehicle, suggesting ideas, or lending a hand on an ad hoc basis.
