It’s here! In Brome-Missisquoi, we’re starting to share cars, electric bikes and trailers among community members.
If you want to…
LocoMotion Brome-Missisquoi is transportation based on trust, mutual support and the involvement of local people.
LocoMotion strengthens the bonds of our already vibrant communities! Car and bike sharing is based on trust—we meet, we hand over the keys, we check in. Plus, with shared bikes, we avoid car trips.
I also have several neighbors with old cars who are thinking about not buying another one thanks to shared cars.
It's beautiful to see this collective movement!
Claudine, member of LocoMotion Brome-Missisquoi
Sharing is possible here thanks to the volunteers who make it roll.
Your local volunteer committee can help you with your first share or answer your questions.

Once your registration is complete, you need to make a request to the person responsible for the vehicle. We are not a rental service but a network of volunteers. So, it’s possible that this person may not respond instantly. It is necessary to establish initial human contact before any borrowing. Once the trust relationship is established, everything runs smoothly!
The LocoMotion committee relies entirely on the participation of volunteers who lend their vehicle or act as bike coordinators. If you’re interested in contributing to benefit your village, write to us at bm@locomotion.app
Yes. People staying in one of the participating communities (Abercorn, Dunham, Cowansville, Frelighsburg, Sutton and West-Brome) for 30 days or more can be accepted into the community. You must provide your permanent address proof (no matter where it is) and proof of local accommodation (e.g., your cottage or campground bill).
Ownership costs are shared with the car owner. Roughly speaking, you should expect a minimum of $75 for a Sutton–Montreal round trip in one day, with the most economical car model. For a more precise idea, you can access our calculator. Note that adding a contribution to Réseau LocoMotion is under consideration for 2027. See pricing.
A first bike has been circulating in Sutton since July 2026; the others are being implemented at a sustainable pace by the volunteer committee, depending on its capacity for mobilization, funding, and recruitment of bike sponsors.
Nothing until 2027, if it’s a collective bike. A small amount, visible when borrowing the bike, will be required starting in 2027 to help fund maintenance costs, both for private bikes and collective bikes.
Whether it’s by cargo bike or the neighbour’s car, join the LocoMotion sharing community!
Together, we’re giving ourselves more options to get around in Vehicle sharing is coming to Sutton, Dunham, Frelighsburg, Cowansville and surrounding areas.
