Rolling in Estrie!

Give yourself more transportation options in Estrie

From 2025 to 2027, eight new LocoMotion Sharing communities will come to life in Estrie.

Do you live in Estrie? LocoMotion and the Conseil régional de l’environnement de l’Estrie (CREE) invite you to:

  • Borrow a vehicle when you need it.
  • Lend yours when it’s not on the road.
  • Share the costs and the good times.
  • And improve local transportation options with your neighbours!

8 Sharing communities

Since 2018, LocoMotion has been supporting motivated groups with:

  • expertise in community vehicle sharing
  • proven tools
  • a secure platform
  • insurance
  • and networking with other equally committed groups

First cohort

2025 will have been the year the following got started: Granby, Waterville and Compton, MRC Des Sources, as well as Eastman and surrounding area.

In addition to the goal of offering more sustainable transportation options to as many people as possible, these territories were chosen based on:

  • public interest;
  • volunteer potential;
  • support from local partners
  • and the learning opportunities they offer for LocoMotion, Quebec’s network for sharing vehicles in your area.

If your area isn’t part of the cohort yet, don’t panic. Your survey response still counts, and we’ll keep tracking citizen and municipal interest.

Second cohort by 2027

To keep this collective momentum going, 4 new communities will be added in Estrie by the end of the project, for a total of 8.

By and for the communities

It’s people from the area who take the wheel of their shared mobility:

  • welcoming new members
  • workshops, meetups and mutual support
  • choosing the shared fleet
  • answering questions

The committees are still looking for motivated people to join the adventure.
